Bayern claimed an easy victory to continue their pursuit of Bayer Leverkusen at the top of the Bundesliga table.

Bayern Munich defeated Stuttgart 3-0 in their Bundesliga game on Sunday. A brilliant attacking display saw the Bavarians return to winning ways at Allianz Arena.

What happened?

Bayern stunned their opponents with an early opener as Harry Kane made it 1-0 only two minutes into the match. The English superstar converted an assist from Leroy Sane, who knocked the ball past Stuttgart’s keeper after seeing him rush out of the goal.

Alexander Nubel went on to make a host of fantastic saves throughout the first period to prevent the hosts from doubling their lead. Thomas Muller thought he scored Bayern’s second goal just before half-time, but his goal was disallowed for offside after a check by VAR.

Stuttgart were not able to mount a comeback after the break as Bayern restarted the game on a brilliant note. Only ten minutes after the break, Kane headed home his 20th Bundesliga goal of the season to make it 2-0 for the hosts.

Stuttgart made a host of changes to their lineup but weren’t able to change the course of the game. The Bavarians then put the victory to bed when Aleksandar Pavlovic’s perfect corner was converted by a deflected header from Kim Min-jae.

The 3-0 win closes the gap between Bayern and Leverkusen to four points on the league table.
