On a turbulent day for world football, Bayern Munich still had a Bundesliga match to play against Bayer Leverkusen. This competition is one of the few that historically puts the supporters above everything else. Today, both sides played a competitive football match in the midst of a revolution throughout Europe. As the news kept coming in mostly from England, Bayern needed to get this victory in order to secure another Bundesliga title.

During the first half, they found two very important goals that gave them the chance to control the rest of the 90 minutes. Both of them came early as the Bayern squad came together to create both chances. Choupo-Moting scored the first goal at around the seventh minute of the first half. Six minutes later, Joshua Kimmich proved why he is considered Toni Kroos’ heir with a long-distance shot. In his striking, you can see the similarities with the Real Madrid legend. With a 2-0 result, the game went to halftime.

Bayern controls the rest of the second half.

Although we didn’t see any more goals from either side, Bayern Munich proved they are willing to suffer in order to win this Bundesliga. They protected the result against a willing Bayer Leverkusen that pushed as they attempted to score a goal. Hansi Flick decided to organize his defense and he even got some good chances on the counter-attack.

Jamal Musiala was close to scoring another one of those wonder goals he got in the last two fixtures. However, the youngster wasn’t lucky in front of goal. Regardless of the struggle during the second half, Bayern Munich still got those three points to celebrate. It appears the Bavarian giants are well on their way to win their ninth consecutive Bundesliga title.
