Bayern remained winless for the second game in a row after an underwhelming display at Allianz Arena.

Koln held Bayern Munich to a 1-1 draw in their Bundesliga game on Tuesday. The guests were close to pulling off a miraculous win at Allianz Arena, but Bayern clinched a late equalizer.

Leipzig close the gap!

Koln shocked Bayern with an early opener in the fourth minute.

A corner from Julian Chabot found Ellyas Skhiri, who was waiting for the ball completely unmarked. The Koln forward then nodded the ball from close range, making it 1-0 for the underdogs.

Bayern immediately started their efforts to get back into the game. But they were too disorganized up front to make serious chances.

Serge Gnabry came close to scoring twice but missed both of his chances. His poor display convinced Julian Nagelsmann to bring in Kingsley Coman at the start of the second half.

Coman’s speed and composure helped Bayern focus their attacks on the right-hand side, sending more and more crosses inside Koln’s box. The guests, however, avoided making individual mistakes and held on to their defensive integrity.

For the first time since returning from the World Cup, it seemed the Bavarians were in full control of the game. Yet, Koln managed to block every attempt they made to find the back of the net.

The guests held on to their lead until the 90th minute, but an unstoppable shot from Joshua Kimmich denied them the victory.

The Bayern captain latched onto the ball behind the box before unleashing a powerful shot into the upper-right corner of the net.

The goal spared a point for Bayern but wasn’t enough to keep their gap to RB Leipzig at the top of the Bundesliga table. The Roten Bullen are now only four points behind the Bavarians, who must host Eintracht Frankfurt on Saturday.
