The German teenager has established himself as one of the most promising players in the world this season.
Bayern Munich and Germany legend Lothar Matthaus has backed Jamal Musiala to reach the level of Lionel Messi.
Musiala has taken Bundesliga by storm since the start of this season, showing signs of becoming a fully-fledged superstar at Bayern.
On Saturday, the 19-year-old became the youngest player ever to make 100 appearances in the Bundesliga. In addition to making history, Musiala entertained fans with another fantastic performance against the Royal Blues.
He provided a back-heel assist for Serge Gnabry’s opener in the 38th minute before setting up Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting for Bayern’s next goal in the second half.
“This is magic, this is Messi-like,” Matthaus told Sky. “This man must never leave Bayern.
“He enchants us all – he entertains us, it’s like Hollywood.
“For me Musiala always has to play. His value? A quarter of a billion, I’d say. But he’s not for sale anyway.”
He added: “You know what Lionel Messi was in Barcelona? Musiala has to be that at Bayern Munich as the fixed point of the team.
“He should stay with the club for as long as possible.”
Musiala will most likely have a starting position in Hansi Flick’s Germany side in the World Cup. Die Mannschaft will kick off their campaign in Qatar with a match against Japan on November 23.
