The Bayern Munich keeper is close to signing a new deal with the club.

Since his 2011 move from Schalke, Manuel Neuer has established himself as one of the greatest goalkeepers of all time at Bayern. The experienced goalkeeper is a pillar of Bayern’s squad, playing an integral role in their success in recent years.

Neuer’s current deal at Allianz Arena runs until 2023. However, he is now on the verge of signing a contract extension with the club.

According to Sky Sports German, Neuer will soon sign a new contract at Bayern Munich. Sources in Germany claim the new deal will run until the end of the 2024-25 campaign.

The Bavarians signed Alexander Nubel from Schalke as Neuer’s potential successor in July 2020. However, Neuer’s contract extension will most likely persuade the player to leave the club in the summer. Nubel is currently on loan at Monaco, where his performances have improved gradually in recent months.

In a post-match interview after Bayern 4-0 win over Koln, the Germany captain was asked about his future.

“Bayern is an outstanding club,” he told Sport1.

“We made history during my time here and we keep trying. Of course I want to be part of that.”

Neuer played his 300th Bundesliga appereance for Bayern against Koln. The Bavarians retained their six-point clearance above Borussia Dortmund as they bounced back from their 2-1 defeat against Gladbach.
