A young Hungarian midfielder has started making much noise lately, and he is attracting much attention from around Europe as a result.
RB Salzburg’s Dominik Szoboszlai is enjoying a remarkable breakthrough season, having already notched up five goals and nine assists from just 13 appearances in all competitions.
The 20-year old secured Hungary’s place in next summer’s European Championship by scoring a splendid late solo goal against Iceland last week – a move that his stock rise further up.
A Bayern Munich legend who has past connections with the Hungarian and RB Salzburg starlet’s country and his club insists Szoboszlai is also wanted by those at the Allianz Arena.
“He is a gem. He’s like Kai Havertz,” Lothar Matthaus said in an interview with Munchner Abendzeitung.
“He could move to RB Leipzig in January, but I’m convinced that every top club in Europe has him on their list, including FC Bayern.”
Matthaus added: “In Hungary, Szoboszlai is already being compared to the great Ferenc Puskas.”
