The Bavarians hope to get back to winning ways after a frustrating Klassiker draw.
Bayern Munich will have to play without Manuel Neuer in their upcoming Bundesliga match against Freiburg.
Neuer sat out of Bayern’s Champions League win over Viktoria Plzen with a shoulder injury.
The Bavarians hoped to have their captain back for the game against Freiburg. But Julian Nagelsmann says the goalkeeper is still in pain.
“Manuel won’t play, he is still in pain. I hope he can be back next week, but Freiburg will be too early for him,” he told a press conference.
“Without painkillers, he can’t move his shoulder in a way that allows for a game. It makes little sense to pump him full so that he can always play.
“I hope he can play again next week in Augsburg. That’s annoying, but that’s just the way it is.”
Alphonso Davies, Matthijs de Ligt and Serge Gnabry will stay sidelined with injuries. But the Bavarians will have Jamal Musiala back after his full recovery from COVID-19.
“After a five-day break, he will probably have to come off the bench first,” Naglesmann added on Musiala. “He had no symptoms and the tests were all good, so he will probably be there tomorrow.”
