Hasan Salihamidzic has addressed rumors linking Manchester United with a move for Bayern Munich winger Kingsley Coman.

Coman became a surprise rumored target for Manchester United over the summer amid their failed attempts to sign Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund.

The former Juventus winger’s reputation grew in late August when he headed home Bayern’s winner against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League final, securing the club a remarkable treble for 2019/20.

Despite his heroics in Lisbon, United reportedly held hope of prizing Coman away from the Allianz Arena. But, like several of his top targets, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer had to make do without him.

Now Salihamidzic has set the record straight by revealing Bayern wouldn’t have allowed a transfer, even if United had approached them.

The club’s sporting director told Bild: “There was nothing, and we wouldn’t have looked into it either.

“His goal in the Champions League final should explain enough why we are relying on him wholeheartedly.”

Unfortunately for Coman, though, injuries problems continue to torment him in the Bavarian capital. He’s only played one game of Bundesliga football after being quarantined and later suffering another muscle injury.
