Bastian Schweinsteiger predicts Premier League and UCL winners for 2023-24

Premier League will have a surprise title winner this season, according to the former Bayern Munich star.

Bastian Schweinsteiger believes Aston Villa will claim the 2023-24 Premier League trophy.

Villa have exceeded all expectations under Unai Emery this season, remaining in the league’s top four throughout the first half of the season. Emery’s side reached the second spot when they returned to winning ways against Burnley last weekend.

While most pundits have predicted Manchester City, Liverpool or Arsenal to claim the title, Schweinsteiger believes Villa have enough quality to claim the trophy.

In a video published on his X (Twitter) account, Schweinsteiger also backed his former side, Bayern Munich, to win both the Bundesliga and the Champions League trophies.

Bayern’s start to the UCL campaign was solid as they reached the last-16 round as the Group A leaders. In the Bundesliga, however, Bayer Leverkusen’s incredible run has kept them in the second place. Schweinsteiger believes Xabi Alonso’s side will win the Europa League this season.

Schweinsteiger was also asked about his predicted winners for the Euro 2024 champions, to which he replied England. The Three Lions reached the European Championship’s final in 2021 but suffered a heartbreaking defeat against Italy at Wembley.
