The Catalans have increased their lead at the top of the league table in recent weeks.
Xavi Hernandez insists winning the La Liga trophy is essential for Barcelona’s stability.
The Catalans are 12 points above Real Madrid on the league table, marching toward their first league title in four years.
Following the Blancos’ home defeat against Villarreal on Saturday, Xavi’s men can increase their lead at the top of the table by beating Girona.
“I wouldn’t take it for granted because they would still have 16 points to win,” the Barcelona boss told reporters when asked about a possible 15-point lead in the title race.
“When the league is won we’ll celebrate but nothing has been won.”
Barca crashed out of the Copa del Rey after a heavy El Clasico defeat earlier this week. Xavi believes his side must now focus on winning the La Liga title.
“Winning La Liga gives you stability,” Xavi added. “I remember Zidane after winning the Champions League saying that the objective was to win the league.
“From the inside, we value what we are doing, against a very strong Real Madrid.”
Barca won the Spanish Super Cup as their first trophy under Xavi earlier this season. However, defeats against Manchester United and Real Madrid knocked them out of the Europa League and the Copa del Rey.
In case the Catalans continue their winning streak in the league, they can celebrate winning the La Liga title on Matchday 34 against Espanyol.
