The Catalans are the first club to admit their interest in Endrick.

Xavi Hernandez has confirmed Barcelona are in talks with Palmeiras starlet Endrick.

The 16-year-old has taken the Brazilian Serie A by storm since making his senior debut for Palmeiras. Several top European clubs have shown interest in signing Endrick, with Xavi confirming Barcelona are one of them.

“We’ve been talking to his father and also directly to the player. I explained the project we have in Barcelona,” Xavi told ESPN.

“We want talent and he’s a talent, able to make a difference. He can score goals, he can dribble, he’s got a brutal ability to make a difference.

“He’s the kind of player we need. He already knows the project we have in Barcelona and we are talking.

“I hope he becomes our player. It’s up to him. It always depends on the player. Usually, a player will end up playing where he wants to play. So, it’s a very personal decision of Endrick.”

Endrick and his family have reportedly travelled across Europe to hold talks with several interested clubs. In addition to Barcelona, Real Madrid, Chelsea, and Paris Saint-Germain are pushing hard to sign the forward.

Real Madrid have gone as far as to send their chief scout to hold talks with Endrick’s agents in Brazil. But it seems speculations about his future will continue until he finally signs a pre-contract with a European club.

Due to FIFA regulations, the Brazilian starlet won’t be able to move to Europe until he is 18.
