The Barca midfielder suffered a hamstring injury in his side’s match against Manchester United on Thursday.
Barcelona midfielder Pedri will stay out of action for about a month after sustaining a hamstring injury.
The Spain international picked up the injury in Barca’s Europa League draw against Manchester United. On Sunday, the Spaniard provided a positive update on his situation through a social media post.
Pedri thanked fans for their support, writing: “Been a tough day, but thanks to your messages and shows of love it has made it easier to carry. Now all I can think about is recovering and getting back on track.”
Despite his disappointment, the midfielder promised to support the team from the sidelines. “From the outside I will support like the most. I have no doubt that the team will continue to give us joy these weeks. As always, Forca Barca!” he added.
The 20-year-old will miss several crucial games in the coming weeks, including the Europa League tie against Manchester United on Thursday and the first leg of Barcelona’s Copa del Rey semi-final against Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Pedri’s injury comes as a major blow to Barcelona, who have been heavily reliant on him this season. The midfielder has made 35 appearances for the Catalan giants, scoring two goals and providing seven assists.
Barcelona will be hoping to have Pedri back in action as soon as possible as they continue to challenge for trophies both domestically and in Europe.
