Barcelona are keen to re-sign their former striker Alexis Sanchez this winter.

Barcelona have been struggling for form in recent weeks. The Catalans have not been able to win any of their last four matches, with their goal-scoring issues continuing.

Sergio Aguero announced his retirement on Wednesday after featuring in only five games for Barcelona. The team’s other striker Luuk de Jong has also delivered poor performances and will most likely leave this winter.

According to SPORT, Barcelona want to send the Dutchman to Inter on a loan deal. The agreement will also see Inter’s Alexis Sanchez join the club on a six-month loan.

Xavi is yet to announce his stance on the potential signing of Sanchez. The Spaniard is reportedly keen to have a striker that is also comfortable to play on the wings. This could make Sanchez a suitable option for Catalans as he has enough experience as a winger.

Sanchez played for Barcelona between 2011 and 2014. He managed to score 46 goals and provide 41 assists during his 141 games at Barca. The Chilean striker then joined Arsenal, Man United, and Inter but could not resist a consistent decline of form. He has started only two games for Inter this season, playing mostly as Edin Dzeko’s backup.

Barcelona are also considering a move for Arsenal outcast Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. The English side have recently stripped the striker of the captain armband, with his future at the club remaining unclear. However, Barcelona might not be able to finalize a move for Aubameyang due to their financial problems.
