A difference of opinion has emerged between Barca’s staff over the transfer of Raphinha.

Choosing between Ousmane Dembele and Raphinha has reportedly led to an internal power struggle at Barcelona.

The Catalans have been unable to reach an agreement with Dembele over a contract extension.

The player, who is now a free agent, has shown interest in staying at Camp Nou in recent weeks.

However, the Catalans have gone on to place a formal offer for Leeds United’s Raphinha, which would limit their chances of signing a new deal with Dembele.

According to Mirror, Barcelona manager Xavi Hernandez is eager to keep Dembele at Camp Nou. But the club’s sporting director Mateu Alemani is pushing to sign Raphinha as Barca’s new winger.

The difference of opinion has hampered Barcelona’s summer plans. The Catalans are now in danger of losing both players.

Chelsea have submitted a £65m offer to outbid Barca in Raphinha’s race, while Dembele’s situation is being monitored by several elite clubs.

Xavi interrupted his holiday to persuade Dembele to stay at the club, but Alemany’s push for Raphinha might prevent him from keeping the Frenchman at Camp Nou.

Barcelona cannot afford to have both players in their next season’s squad. Xavi and Alemani would need to agree on one of the wingers to continue their squad rebuild this summer.
