Ahead of a transcendental match, FC Barcelona supporters did everything in their power to prevent PSG players from sleeping last night.

FC Barcelona supporters are pissed against PSG, they reportedly didn’t let them sleep at their hotel last night. This happens often before any crunch match in European football. Any club that visits a city and has a chance to defeat the locals can suffer the consequences. Blaugrana supporters started working hard in order to prevent PSG players from resting ahead of Tuesday’s match. It all started early in the evening during Monday as all PSG players went to dinner at their hotel.

Supporters gathered outside the hotel with a truckload of fireworks that started going off into the night. This situation remained for hours as the PSG players attempted to get some rest before the match. A hostile environment that has an origin and has extended for the better part of the last decade between both clubs. Every time Barcelona travels to Paris, the exact same thing happens.

When did this modern rivalry start?

Many believe that this European modern rivalry started when PSG signed Neymar from Barcelona. Some also think it started earlier, when the Catalan club attempted to sign Thiago Silva or Marco Verratti. But everything started when the Blaugrana decided to remove the Qatar logo from their kit. They previously reached an agreement to allow the foundation as the main sponsor and the club didn’t respect the deal.

Since then, the Qatar monarchs made Barcelona one of their worst enemies. Everything that happened after that has been a direct attack between both clubs as a consequence of this disagreement. A script that makes this confrontation even more exciting. We are about to enjoy one of the most interesting crunch matches in recent history between two of the biggest clubs in the world.
