The Catalans have agreed to sell Memphis Depay to their La Liga rivals.

Memphis Depay will reportedly move to Atletico Madrid on a January deal.

The Dutchman has struggled for game time since the start of the season, making only three appearances for the Catalans.

Manchester United emerged as a possible destination for Depay, but they abandoned those plans after signing Wout Weghorst.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Depay will join Barcelona, ending Camp Nou before his current contract expires next summer.

The Sky Sports journalist claims Barca will receive a transfer fee of €3m for the experienced forward.

Widespread reports in Spanish media claimed the Catalans demanded around €10m for Depay. But they have agreed to part ways with their star striker for a much lower fee.

Atletico are in need of attacking reinforcement after sending Joao Felix to Chelsea on a loan deal.

The Rojiblancos have struggled hard to score in their recent games, slipping to fourth place on the La Liga table. Depay’s arrival will see him link up with former Barcelona star Antoine Griezmann at the heart of Atletico’s attacking line.

Following a disappointing 1-1 draw against Almeria, Atletico will return to Copa del Rey to take on Levante on Wednesday. Simeone’s men will then host Valladolid in their next La Liga game three days later.
