Barcelona are reportedly ready to launch a €25million bid to land the Olympique Lyonnais forward Memphis Depay ahead of the new season.

Depay, who is in the final year of his contract at Lyon, has become one of Barcelona’s top transfer targets since Ronald Koeman replaced Quique Setien at the helm.

The 26-year-old Dutchman has already turned down the contract extension at the Groupama Stadium.

Also, a lack of European football next season is likely to deter the ex-Manchester United flop from committing his future to the Ligue 1 side.

Depay and Koeman, on the other hand, shared chemistry during the latter’s time as Netherlands manager, which could prove vital to Barcelona’s hopes of landing the prolific forward.

As reported by Sports Mole, the Blaugrana are lining up a €25million bid for the PSV Eindhoven youth academy graduate.

After receiving a transfer boost from the Lyon sporting director Juninho, the Catalans are ready to make their move.

Juninho has recently admitted the club may have to give up some of their standout performers, including Depay, Moussa Dembele, and Houssem Aouar.

While the latter two seem to be heading towards the Premier League, the Dutch dynamo’s future probably lies at Camp Nou alongside his two compatriots.

Apart from Koeman, Depay’s international colleague Frenkie de Jong is also waiting for him at Barcelona.

Moreover, the Dutch colony could grow further as the 57-year-old manager also has his eyes set on Liverpool’s Georginio Wijnaldum.
