The two European giants were tipped to try and sign the Portugal international before the summer transfer window closed.

Manchester City have no desire to sell Bernardo Silva and don’t expect any offers either.

That’s according to Sky Sports. The report states it would take a seriously high offer for City to reconsider. But as far as the Premier League leaders are concerned, Silva will stay at the Etihad.

Pep Guardiola has reiterated frequently over the summer that he wants to keep Silva. With the midfielder having not told City that he wants a transfer either, the manager is set to get his wish.

The former AS Monaco star had become a topic of interest for both Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain. The two clubs appeared set to go head-to-head for the player’s signature. In fact, as per a report from The Times, PSG were willing to offer €70 million to beat Barca to the punch.

But it seems not even €70 million will do for City, and with only a fortnight left before the deadline day, the Citizens would not prefer to avoid any key departures at such a late stage in the summer.

Guardiola’s side return to action on Sunday away to Newcastle United in the Premier League. They then set for Camp Nou to meet Barcelona in a friendly next Wednesday.
