After a much-needed win against Dynamo Kyiv, Barcelona provide an injury update on Jordi Alba ahead of the upcoming El-Clasico.
Barcelona have now discovered the magnitude of Jordi Alba’s injury ahead of the all-important El-Clasico.
If you missed Barca’s Wednesday night Champions League clash against Dynamo Kyiv, Alba was a crucial figure during the entire game. Of course, the Catalan side was in desperate need of a victory in the European competition.
And with the help of the veteran full-back, Barca secured three points in the group stage with a 1-0 win over the Ukrainian outfit. An ideal cross from Alba was purely connected by Gerrard Pique for the game’s only goal.
Now, in spite of playing the full match, the Spanish defender sustained a problem which was revealed after the full-time whistle. According to Diario AS, the 32-year-old went through some tests and reports confirm that he strained his right foot.
Sunday will bring pure rivalry as the two biggest teams in La Liga, Barcelona and Real Madrid meet in El-Clasico. However, following Alba’s setback, it seems that he will be under uncertainty for the mega-match.
But, at this point, the left-winger is not yet taken off the roster, though he will have to put effort into his speedy recovery. Additionally, Alba will be scrutinized once again on Friday during a training session with the team.
