La Liga giants FC Barcelona have eyes set on Manchester United mega-star alongside major rivals Real Madrid.

Paul Pogba “dreams” to play for the arch-rivals of Barcelona, Real Madrid. Though, the midfielder is open to joining Barcelona next summer on a free transfer.

The Manchester United player currently has only eight months remaining on his contract at Old Trafford.

Subsequently, this gives him the freedom to work out new contracts. And move to a new team at the start of the new year in 2021.

Although, United will be able to extend his agreement for an additional 12 months.

The Frenchman’s future remains unclear as to whether the club applies the clause to keep the midfielder. Evidently, Pogba is facing trouble as the Reds make a tumbling start to the season.

In 2019, the 27-year-old midfielder disclosed his preparation for new challenges. Consequently, his ideal switch would most likely be to Real Madrid.

Madrid has for some time been Pogba’s next desired club. Moreover, Zinedine Zidane is eager to bring his fellow Frenchman to Santiago Bernabeu.

Barca or Madrid?

Barcelona aims to use this to their benefit for their good. The Catalan side will have the option to purchase Pogba for no transfer according to Mundo Deportivo.

However, the Catalan giants are struggling in terms of financial means. Meaning the club will be unable to spend cash in the next transfer window.

Therefore, Barca is looking for more free options for next year. This includes Bayern Munich defender David Alaba.

Alaba will see his contract end in 2021. Though, Juventus join in the race to sign the Austra international.

As a matter of fact, Pogba is believed to be a major admirer of the Camp Nou outfit. And will potentially make himself available for a move.

Furthermore, Pogba expressed some new interest during the international duty about his club career. He stated it would be a “dream” to play for Los Blancos.

The midfielder said: “I heard a lot of noise that I was going to leave and I was going to leave to clubs left and right.

“Today, I am still at Manchester United and I am fighting to try to take the club even higher.

“Yes, all footballers would like to play for Real Madrid. Maybe it is a dream. It is a dream for me, why not one day?”

Pogba played all three fixtures for United in the Premier League. But, the Red Devils suffered two defeats.

In addition, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side lost 6-1 to Tottenham before the start of the international break.
