The Barcelona president says the Catalans will make at least four new signings next summer.

Barcelona have been busy rebuilding their squad under Xavi Hernandez in the past few months. The Spanish manager has already made great improvements at Camp Nou, integrating Barca’s newly-signed stars into his squad.

Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang, Dani Alves, Adama Traore, and Ferran Torres have all had above-average starts to their Barcelona careers under Xavi. However, the Catalans are already pushing for more recruitments in the summer.

Several sources have confirmed the Catalans have reached an agreement with Milan’s Franck Kessie over a free move. Chelsea centre-back Andreas Christensen is also very close to joining Xavi’s side as he spends the final months of his contract at Stamford Bridge.

In a new interview with El Periodico, Barcelona president Joan Laporta has spoken about the Catalans’ plans for the summer window.

“We will complete at least four signings,” Laporta said. “The idea is to reinforce the attack, midfield and defence.”

Barcelona are still in the transfer race for Erling Haaland. However, Laporta stressed he will not endanger Barca’s financial security for an exciting signing.

Speaking with Mundo Deportivo, the Barca manager said: “I will not talk about specific players. But, I can tell you that we will not do any deals that puts the club at risk,” he explained. “The members can be calm because we are not going to lose our heads over an operation of this magnitude.”
