Ronald Koeman feels honored and fortunate to once again become a part of Barcelona ahead of beginning his managerial reign.

Widely regarded as one of the best players to have ever played for FC Barcelona, Ronald Koeman had quite a successful six years at the club.

The Dutchman, who first arrived at Camp Nou back in 1989, was a key part of Johan Cruyff’s ‘dream team’, winning four La Liga titles and a European Cup, among other major honors.

In 1998, he started serving as the club’s assistant coach before embarking on his own managerial journey two years later. And after gaining 20 years worth of experience managing the likes of Ajax, Benfica, Everton, and the Dutch national team, he has now returned.

The 57-year old earlier replaced Quique Setien, who was sacked after the club ended the 2019/20 season without a trophy, and has been tasked with a rebuild of the Barca team.

“I feel Barcelona is my home. In the previous visits to the city, I was missing something because I had not come to work for FC Barcelona,” Koeman told in an interview with Barca TV.

“Now I am the coach and I am very happy. The most important thing is to know, whether you are a coach, player or Barca employee, you are in the best club in the world and nothing can be better.

“We are very lucky to be part of this club “
