During a training session on Tuesday morning, Barcelona welcomed back Ansu Fati to the fold after a long spell out injured.

Ansu Fati made a welcome return to team training on Tuesday morning for Barcelona.

The 18-year-old has spent the last 10 months recovering from an injury to the internal meniscus of his left knee from a La Liga match against Real Betis at Camp Nou on November 6.

Fati, who has undergone three operations on his knee, spent time in Madrid recently for his recovery. He worked under Dr. Jose Carlos Noronha, a renowned knee specialist, in the Spanish capital. He hoped to return for pre-season, but his injury took longer than expected to recover from.

The Spain international, however, took a major step forward on Tuesday by doing some training alongside the first-team squad at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper.

When could he return?

The youngster won’t be available to face Getafe on Sunday for Barcelona’s last game before the international break begins.

According to Mundo Deportivo, Fati could make the trip to Sevilla on September 11 for a La Liga match once the international break has ended. He is currently doing a pre-season program to ready himself.

Memphis Depay and Frenkie de Jong, on the other hand, did some specific work away from the group. The Dutch players are recovering from knocks suffered last weekend but should be available to face Getafe.
