The Blaugrana kept on wasting their chances and suffered elimination at the last-16 of the tournament for the first time since 2007.

Antoine Griezmann says Barcelona “don’t deserve to leave so soon” in the Champions League as he rues his side’s missed chances against Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday night.

Barcelona dominated in almost every aspect of the game as they had 72 percent of possession of the ball, made over 850 passes, and took 21 shots in total. However, they were extremely wasteful, missing numerous scoring chances from open play as well as a penalty.

Messi scored a screamer but saw his spot-kick saved by Keylor Navas while Dembele, among others, showed that he seriously needs to work on his finishing.

The La Liga giants were held to a 1-1 draw in the last-16 second-leg which brought an end to their European journey following a 5-2 aggregate loss to PSG.

“We missed chances, that’s a shame. We had four clear opportunities and then the penalty. In the second half, it was more difficult, they defended deeper,” Griezmann told after the match, via Mundo Deportivo.

“Navas had a great night. Today the goalkeeper played a great game and we must congratulate him.

“Now we have La Liga and the Copa [del Rey], they’re our goals.

“We don’t deserve to leave so soon in Champions League, neither do the fans, but we’ll return next year with the intention of winning.”
