The Spaniard has edged closer to Barcelona’s exit door in recent weeks.
Barcelona have reportedly made it clear that they won’t sell Ansu Fati for Jorge Mendes’ €35m price tag.
Fati’s lack of playing time under Xavi Hernandez has convinced him to consider continuing his career elsewhere.
Earlier this week, Fati’s father revealed he wants his son to leave Barcelona.
“If it was up to me, I would take him [to another team], but [Ansu] wants to stay at Barcelona,” Bori Fati told Cope (via Mondu Deportivo).
“He doesn’t want to sing for another club, but I want to see him succeed.
“As a dad, I am angry. Seeing Ansu play so little winds you up a little bit, and sometimes I think as a father, not a coach.
“I called Mateu [Alemany, the Barcelona director of football], he told us that Ansu is part of the club’s heritage and they have bet big on him.
“As a dad, I think differently, maybe I am wrong. He is your franchise player, the No. 10, he took [that number] on when no one was ready to take it from [Lionel] Messi.”
According to Sport, Fati’s agent, Jorge Mendes, has been offering him to other clubs, suggesting Barca would sell him for only €35m. However, the Spanish outlet claims Barca will not allow Fati to leave for anything close to that number.
Fati himself is reportedly disappointed with his father’s comments, making it clear to the dressing room that those comments do not represent his feelings.
