Pedri has now started feeling more comfortable with the club’s superstar player but the situation was different during his initial days.

FC Barcelona’s future has looked in good hands with the likes of Pedri in the team, with the player consistently repaying the manager’s faith in young talents.

The former Las Palmas man scored his first goal for the club in the Champions League battering of Ferencvaros and netted his first La Liga goal in the 5-2 win over Real Betis.

It was, however, in Barca’s clash against Juventus that he put his talent on full display, with the 17-year old showing creativity, tactical acuity, and decision making of someone well beyond his age.

Pedri could be the one to take the mantle of Lionel Messi in the future, and he insists he is already taking advice from the six-time Ballon d’Or winner.

“As I’m sure most people are, I was a bit timid in front of him at first. But after a while, you see he’s just a normal guy and he’s now like a friend in our dressing room,” he told about Messi, speaking to Marca.

“It’s amazing to be able to train with and learn from the world’s best player.

“He always gives you good advice on the pitch, he knows what he’s talking about, given how much he has won in football. It’s a pleasure to take bits from him; I try to listen and learn as much as I can.”
