The Catalans claimed a statement victory ahead of their must-win match against Bayern Munich.
Barcelona defeated Athletic Bilbao 4-0 in their La Liga game on Sunday. A brilliant attacking display saw Barca crush their opponents at Camp Nou.
Dembele is unstoppable!
Barca quickly took control of the game, scoring the opener only 12 minutes in.
Following an assist from Robert Lewandowski, Ousmane Dembele scored Barca’s first goal with a header. The Frenchman then provided an assist for Sergi Roberto only six minutes later.
Having doubled their lead, Barcelona maintained the pressure on Bilbao’s backline from both sides. Then came another Lewa- Dembele combination, which saw the Polish striker make it 3-0 in the 22nd minute.
Bilbao tried to get back into the game through a number of changes in their lineup at the beginning of the second half.
However, Barca maintained their dominance by playing the ball inside their opponents’ half. Dembele registered his fourth direct goal contribution of the night when he provided a brilliant through ball for Ferran Torres’ goal in the 73rd minute.
The Catalans go into their crucial Champions League match against Bayern on the back of a perfect performance. Let’s see if they can keep their qualification chances alive by beating their classic rivals on Wednesday.
