Camp Nou Stadium was the place where FC Barcelona got a visit from Atletico Madrid in La Liga. We have today’s player ratings.

Atletico Madrid visited FC Barcelona today in one of the most important matches of the season for both sides. The Blaugrana needed a victory and a bad result for Real Madrid tomorrow against Sevila. Whereas the Colchoneros depended strictly on themselves before this game started. However, a negative result could place them in a difficult situation and make things easier for Los Blancos. But today’s match was dominated by both goalkeepers.

Marc-Andre ter Stegen and Jan Oblak were the most valuable players of the match at Camp Nou this afternoon. They made a handful of spectacular saves each during a highly entertaining match with no goals throughout the 90 minutes. Leo Messi had a few great chances but he was unlucky in front of the goalie. Luis Suarez and Angel Correa had similar situations but Ter Stegen was also there to save the day. During the first half, Sergio Busquets and Thomas Lemar got injured and forced their managers to make early modifications.

Real Madrid has a clear path forward.

The second half was more of the same from both sides, with a lively game but no real danger for either side. After 92 minutes, we got a goalless draw that can only benefit Real Madrid tomorrow. Los Blancos play Sevilla at Alfredo Di Stefano Stadium and they have a chance to take the top of La Liga. If they do this, they still have a complicated visit to San Mames.

Bilbao seems like the place where we can see who will win this La Liga title. Should Sevilla win tomorrow, they can also get back in the fight for the trophy. But today was ideal for either of both sides to get ahead in the table. This is arguably the most competitive La Liga season of the century. Who will win the trophy and who deserves it more?
