With an underwhelming campaign this season, it appears that Auba will be departing London in search of new horizons over the summer months.

Chelsea striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang favors a return to FC Barcelona in the summer.

In a social media clip on TikTok, a fan approached Aubameyang at a bar. He asked the Gabonese about Barcelona, eventually causing him to say: “I would like to return to Barcelona, but we’ll see.”

Aubameyang became a fan favorite during his short spell at Camp Nou. He joined Barca from Arsenal in January 2022, scoring 11 goals in 17 La Liga games. His exploits helped Xavi Hernandez’s side charge to a second-place finish.

Robert Lewandowski’s arrival from Bayern Munich rocked the boat though, leading Aubameyang to make a move of his own by signing with Chelsea last summer.

However, fast forward almost a year later, the striker looks likely set to sail away from Stamford Bridge. He is out of favor at Chelsea, making just 15 Premier League appearances – five as a starter.

Rejoining Barcelona will hinge on La Liga’s FFP rules. Aubameyang may well need to take on a reduced salary and hope Chelsea let him go for free.

The 33-year-old’s current deal in London runs until June 2024.
