The Barcelona striker was assaulted and robbed in his own home on Monday.

A group of masked men broke into Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s Barcelona home, assaulted the striker, and robbed him and his family.

The incident took place at around 1 AM on Monday morning at Aubameyang’s home in Castelldefels. At least four men were involved in the robbery. They entered the property through the garden and threatened the footballer and his wife, Alysha Behague, with guns and iron bars.

Authorities told Spanish outlet El Pais that the thieves hit Aubameyang and forced him to open a safe where the couple kept jewelry. They fled in a white Audi A3 vehicle according to several witness reports.

Aubameyang and his wife are said to be doing ok after the robbery.

The former Gabon international’s Barcelona teammates Gerard Pique, Samuel Umtiti, and Jordi Alba have also reportedly had their homes robbed in recent years.

Summer signing Robert Lewandowski, meanwhile, had his watch snatched from his arm as he arrived at the club’s training ground around two weeks ago.
