The Portuguese star’s future is still uncertain ahead of the transfer window deadline.

Joao Felix doesn’t want to play for Atletico Madrid again, according to club president Enrique Cerezo.

Felix returned to Atletico Madrid earlier this summer, ending his short loan spell at Chelsea. The Blues decided against signing the Portugal international on a permanent contract, but Felix is seemingly unwilling to continue his career at Atletico Madrid.

“It’s very clear, João Félix doesn’t want to play for Atletico Madrid,” Cerezo said on Thursday.

“Whether other teams want him, that’s another debate.”

Felix was out of Atletico’s squad for their opening La Liga game of the season against Real Betis. He was then an unused substitute as the Rojiblancos hosted Granada last weekend.

In July, Felix revealed his dream of joining Barcelona, saying: “I’d love to play for Barça.

“Barcelona has always been my first choice and I’d love to join Barça. It was always my dream since I was a kid. If it happens, it will be a dream come true for me.”

Romours about Barca’s possible move for Felix have intensified in recent weeks. A few sources have claimed that the Catalans could offer a swap deal involving Ansu Fati. But as of now, Atletico haven’t received a formal bid for the 23-year-old.
