Atletico will face Real Madrid in a La Liga derby on Sunday. The La Liga champions will face an in-form Blancos, but they will have a key player back for the game.

According to Football Espana, Gimenez will make his return against Real Madrid. With the return of Gimenez and the availability of Felipe, Simeone can implement his favourite back-three system. The pair will play alongside Mario Hermoso, who has been a crucial part of the Atletico lineup lately.

Atletico currently sit fourth in La Liga, ten points behind leaders Real Madrid. The Rojiblancos will look to end their city rivals’ nine-game winning streak.

Following the game against Real Madrid, Simeone’s side will face Sevilla on December 18.
