Atalanta star Duvan Zapata is feeling pretty confident about his side’s chances against Liverpool in the Champions League.

Atalanta and Liverpool will lock horns in what could be a deciding match in Group D of the Champions League.

Both sides remain unbeaten in the competition after three games. Whoever wins tomorrow will take hold of the first spot in the group and there is all to play for.

Liverpool is missing a number of players and the most notable absence is that of Virgil van Dijk.

There could be a window of opportunity in there but Zapata says that won’t change anything for Atalanta.

Without exaggeration, La Dea are about one of the most entertaining sides to watch in Europe and the forward believes his side can hurt the reigning Premier League champions.

“I know they have some players out, but it doesn’t mean anything,” Zapata said at a press conference as quoted by Football-Italia.

“They are strong. Any player who plays for them will have experience. It will be a very difficult match.”

“They know how we play up front, we have to be determined throughout the game. We have to think about both phases, to win this match we need to match their intensity.”

Zapata already has three Champions League goals from two games so far and will be looking to add more to his tally on Tuesday. However, he knows himself, and his teammates are up for a stern challenge.

“It will not be an easy match. Last season they won the Premier League, two years ago the Champions League,” he added. “They are a strong team at an international level.”

“It will not be easy for their defence either, we can hurt them if we are able to play our game.”

All eyes will be on Gewiss Stadium tomorrow where Atalanta and Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool battle for top spot in Group D of the Champions League.
