Ronaldo saved a point for Manchester United in the 91st minute of their Champions League game on Tuesday.
Manchester United were 2-1 behind when Ronaldo scored a sensational volley to level the game against Atalanta.
The goal was Ronaldo’s second equalizer of the night. The Portuguese star scored another goal when the Red Devils were down a goal just before halftime.
Atalanta midfielder Marten de Roon took to Twitter to express his frustration after the game.
The 30-year-old commented on a recent post which said: “Football is a simple game. Twenty-two men chase a ball for 90 minutes and at the end, Marten de Roon scores,” the Dutchman added: “Or bloody Ronaldo.”
Ronaldo has scored five Champions League goals for the Red Devils this season as they lead the Group F table. The five-time Ballon d’Or is now three goals behind the competition’s top-scorer Robert Lewandowski, who has registered eight goals.
Man Utd will face Manchester City in a crucial Premier League battle as doubts around Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s future continues.
