Atalanta defender Cristian Romero says it is one game at a time and talks of a Scudetto win by his side is way too early.
Romero is refusing to get carried away with Atalanta’s bright start to the season.
La Dea are joint-top of the Serie A standings with a 100 percent record after three games so far.
Without exaggeration, Atalanta are becoming one of the most exciting teams to watch in Europe.
In their last three games, they have scored at least four goals per match and continue to maintain their entertaining attacking style of play.
Romero says they won’t get carried away with all of that and will work on improving even further.
Atalanta were Serie A challengers for a good period of last season and were even top at one point. There are suggestions they could be dark horses once again but the defender has played down those notions.
“I’m getting used to the mentality, here you only play to win”, Romero said as quoted by Football-Italia.
“The club wanted me very much, and I think it was the right choice to come here. Also because at Juventus I would have had little space.”
“The training methods of [Ivan] Juric and [Gian Piero] Gasperini are similar, I still have to learn a lot, until a few years ago tactically I was a disaster, in Bergamo I try to look carefully at Toloi and Palomino.”
Romero added: “I think it’s too early to talk about the Scudetto, better to concentrate on one game at a time.”
“The personal goal is to get a call-up with the National Team, although I firstly want to do well with Atalanta and show the coach that I’m ready”.
