Olympic Stadium in Rome was the place where AS Roma got a visit from Man United in the Europa League. We got the player ratings.

After last week’s massacre at Old Trafford, AS Roma had an impossible return leg against Manchester United in Rome’s Olympic Stadium. They needed to win by a four-goal advantage and prevent United from scoring more than two goals. This didn’t start well as Edinson Cavani proved once again that he is in impressive form. He opened the scoreboard with a brilliant long-range goal after an assist from Fred.

We didn’t see more goals until the second half when Dzeko and Cristante turned the game around. Suddenly, there was hope for AS Roma but they still needed four goals with thirty minutes left on the clock. However, Cavani proved he is on fire with a beautiful header after a gorgeous cross from Bruno Fernandes. United had an 8-4 advantage on the aggregate, which was impossible to reach at this point.

AS Roma keep their honor intact.

As time kept going by, it was evident Manchester United had the result in the bag but AS Roma still wanted to get the victory. Zalewski scored the third goal for his side with seven minutes left on the clock. Three goals to tie the series seemed impossible at this point but they still tried to score them.

In the end, United got their ticket to the final and completed a happy city of Manchester that will live two European finals in the same season for the first time in history. Both powerful clubs are favorites to win their respective matches and they could potentially meet at the European Supercup next season. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will finally get his chance to get some silverware after so much hard work since he arrived at the club.
