Let’s take a look at the Serie A Player Ratings from the showdown between AS Roma and Inter Milan over at the Stadio Olimpico.

The box-office showdown in the Italian capital took just 17 minutes to see a goal through Lorenzo Pellegrini. In a quick counter-attacking move, Henrikh Mkhitaryan picked out the midfielder who then wrongfooted Inter keeper Samir Handanovic before slotting the ball into the bottom corner of the net.

But while Pellegrini’s effort handed Roma control, Inter were the stronger side. The visitors had the better chances in the first half. Romelu Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez, for instance, both forced Pau Lopez into fine saves.

As impressive as Inter were, however, they lacked the clinical edge needed to get back on level terms before the break.

It was a similar story for Antonio Conte’s men in the second half, with Lukaku nearly scoring twice in the opening seven minutes. But the bar and Lopez’s brilliance kept the Belgian striker at bay in Rome.

Inter’s persistence was finally rewarded just before the hour-mark, however, when Milan Skriniar headed the ball past Lopez to equalize. Then, just seven minutes, the Nerazzurri struck again to snatch a deserved lead.

Achraf Hakimi brilliantly fended off Chris Smalling before firing the ball off the bottom of the bar and into the goal for his sixth strike of the campaign.

But the former Real Madrid star’s moment of glory proved short-lived when Gianluca Mancini bundled in a corner-kick to ensure a share of the spoils for Roma in the final four minutes of the match.
