Mikel Arteta is left amused by Willian’s huger for glory despite him having already enjoyed much success in his career.

Willian produced an inspiring display in the opening day of the new Premier League season which also happened to be his debut for Arsenal.

He had a hand in two goals in his side’s 3-0 win over Fulham and became the first player since August 1992 to assist twice in his debut match.

However, the 30-year old tuning himself to the rhythm of the new surroundings hardly came as a surprise for those aware of his capabilities.

The Brazilian winger has put up several Man of the Match-winning performances throughout his seven-year spell in England so far, winning the Premier League titles twice and four more domestic trophies in the process.

All of his aforementioned successes, including a Europa League glory, have come during his time at Chelsea.

And Mikel Arteta is confident that his summer signing’s hunger for achievement will not become dull any time soon.

“I’m really pleased because he showed how much he really wants it and how much he is going to drive the other players on in order to achieve that,” said Arteta, as per Evening Standard.

“With some players when that happened they have a full stomach but with Willian I got the opposite feeling, that he wanted more and how he wanted to move to a different club and get to the level that he got before.”
