The Gunners skipper has missed the last three games and is doubtful for the trip to Wolves on Tuesday.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is in isolation due to COVID-19 restrictions, confirmed Mikel Arteta, who doesn’t know when he’ll be able to recall his captain.

Aubameyang missed Arsenal’s double-header against Southampton in the FA Cup and Premier League, along with the club’s 0-0 draw against Manchester United on Saturday.

The 31-year-old, who recently revealed his absence was due to his mother’s illness, has been in isolation after returning to London. Therefore, he remains doubtful for the trip to Wolves on Tuesday.

“We are following the rules and the protocols right now, and the protocols say that he cannot be involved at the moment,” said Arteta in a post-match conference following the club’s stalemate against United.

“We have to respect that and the doctor is managing the situation.”

Asked if Aubameyang’s absence is down to leaving England or being exposed to COVID-19, Arteta responded: “It’s because he had a family issue that he had to attend to, and these are the consequences of that.”

Aubameyang has scored eight goals in 20 appearances across all competitions for Arsenal this season.
