The Gunners boss gave an update on Tierney and Luiz’s injuries after a disappointing Premier League defeat to Liverpool.
Mikel Arteta has confirmed Kieran Tierney’s knee injury but is uncertain how severe the issue is, while David Luiz may need surgery.
Tierney, who has already had a spell on the sidelines through a knee problem this season, came off just before the break during Arsenal’s 3-0 defeat to Liverpool after a challenge with James Milner.
But while the Scottish full-back could walk on his own, Arsenal face an anxious wait for updates on how serious his latest injury setback is.
Hopefully a speedy recovery for Kieran Tierney 🙌

“He felt something in his knee and he was in pain,” said Arteta in his post-match conference on Tierney’s exit. “He will be injured, but we don’t know for how long.”
Luiz, on the other hand, missed the Liverpool defeat altogether. The Brazilian center-back suffered discomfort in his right knee over the international break. And it appears he will be out for a few weeks at least, even if he doesn’t undergo surgery.
“We don’t know,” Arteta replied when asked if Luiz needs surgery.
“There a few possibilities on that, being a little more conservative with the treatment or having to go for a surgery. We are talking with the doctors at the moment to make the right decision on that, but we’ll see.
“He could be out for a few weeks at least.”
Arsenal return to action on Thursday for the first leg of their Europa League quarter-final tie against Czech side Slavia Prague in London.
