Ivory Coast international Nicolas Pepe has been struggling to reach his maximum potential at Arsenal under Mikel Arteta.

Mikel Arteta has urged that Arsenal are not willing to release Nicolas Pepe in the forthcoming transfer window in January.

The Ivory Coast winger travelled to Emirates Stadium during the summer of 2019 from French club Lille.

However, the record-breaking £72 million star has been unable to grant his complete self to the Gunners yet.

In fact, Pepe has only racked 122 minutes in the Premier League since October, and rumours about his inconsistency have been around.

It has also been suggested that Arsenal should try to raise money in the upcoming transfer window and look for other alternatives.

Regardless of all the disputes, Arteta is pretty confident regarding Pepe’s status at the club and wants to work with the 26-year-old for more time.

The Spaniard told the reporters when asked if the club would accept any offers for Pepe: “No, and it is not the moment to talk about that either. We are interested in Nico performing at the level that he can do.”

“He had some really good moments since I have been here. Some moments where he hasn’t participated that much, like everybody else.”
