Tottenham are off to a flyer this season, but can they go all the way? Mikel Arteta and Pep Guardiola have shared their verdicts.

Mikel Arteta and Pep Guardiola both rate Tottenham as genuine title contenders in the Premier League.

Under Ange Postecoglou, Tottenham have stormed to the top of the Premier League. The Lilywhites are unbeaten after 10 fixtures, with 26 points. They are two points clear of Arsenal and Manchester City, who lie second and third respectively.

“They are right now up there and they’re merited to be where they are, so yes,” Arteta said on whether Spurs are a title threat in a press conference on Friday.

Like his Arsenal counterpart, Guardiola is equally certain about Tottenham’s prospects.

The Manchester City manager believes Spurs have a key advantage, as the Premier League is their only competition. They’re not in Europe this season and won’t play another cup game until January in the third round of the FA Cup.

“Look at Tottenham, how well they are playing,” Guardiola said at the end of October.

“They play one game a week, they will be fit throughout the season. Tottenham will be there.”

Tottenham will be back in action on Monday at home to Chelsea in the Premier League.
