The former Arsenal manager might be making his comeback to professional football as rumors state he’s been offered a job as Switzerland’s new manager.

It has been three years since we last saw Arsene Wenger on the sidelines of a football pitch. After 22 years at Arsenal, the manager decided to step down following a few disappointing seasons with the English side. At 71 years old, football fans probably thought they wouldn’t see Wenger managing a team ever again. However, recent news suggest the French manager may be coming out of ‘retirement’ to take on a new challenge.

According to Blick, the Swiss federation believes Wenger would be the perfect replacement for Petkovic. The current Switzerland manager is set to join Bordeaux at Ligue 1. Wenger, currently working for FIFA, will begin negotiations to add a national team to his CV.

If the deal goes through, Arsene Wenger would have to come back to the manager world quite soon. Switzerland’s national team will compete for a spot in the next World Cup in November. The Frenchman won three league titles and seven FA Cups for Arsenal, making him one of the best managers in the history of football.
