As the international duty begins, Arsenal faces another major problem as the club will potentially miss their important player.

Arsenal is in concern regarding the fitness of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang ahead of the restart of the Premier League.

Subsequently, the Gunners captain pulled out of the Gabon team after spraining his ankle this week.

Furthermore, Gabon manager Patrice Neveu affirmed Aubameyang’s injury.

He told RFI: “Aubameyang suffers from a small sprained ankle, contracted on Sunday, during the Premier League match against Sheffield.

“The Arsenal doctor sent me a certificate indicating his unavailability. He is in care for a week.”

Injury woes.

Evidently, the 31-year-old has proven beneficial at Emirates during the season 2019-20. Aubameyang netted a total of 22 goals last season along with 3 assists.

Also, he scored 29 goals across all competitions for Arsenal in 44 outings.

Unfortunately, this will be a disaster for Arsenal’s gaffer Mikel Arteta. This is because defender Kieran Tierney will also miss the league fixtures.

Moreover, the Scotland international will self-isolate for 14 days after testing positive for COVID19. He contracted the virus from national teammate Stuart Armstrong.

Arsenal will face Manchester City on October 17 after the end of the international break.

In addition, Aubameyang’s injury woes create more pressure for Arteta as he will potentially miss the important clash.

The Gunners are attempting to release Tierney from self-quarantine so he will be present for the City game.

Although, talkSPORT host Simon Jordan believes that it will be difficult to do the same.

Tierney, who has had three negative coronavirus tests, said: “I’m so disappointed and frustrated to be in this situation.

“I have adhered to all regulations and made sure I was socially distancing from my teammates in the hotel.

“I’ve also tested negative. I know Arsenal and the SFA are now in discussions with the Scottish authorities to gain a further understanding.”
