Ace Football previews the Premier League clash between Arsenal and Leicester City, and offers the latest betting tips, line-ups, odds, and team news.

Seventh meets eighth as Leicester City visit Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium for a Premier League match on Sunday night.

Both sides head into the fixture looking to bounce back from narrow defeats last time out. The hosts, in particular, will need to find more creativity to break down Leicester, who have won all their games on the road this season.

The Foxes do, however, boast a dreadful record away to Arsenal with no victories in their previous 27 meetings. In fact, their last victory came in September 1973 – exactly 47 years ago!

Arsenal Form & Stats

Nine points from five games isn’t an inauspicious start, but nothing special on Arsenal’s behalf either. Although they have got arguably their two toughest fixtures of the season, away to Liverpool and Manchester City, out of the way. So now it’s about bagging those three points on a regular basis.

Defeating Leicester, in particular, is a must for Mikel Arteta’s side on Sunday night. With another challenging trip to Manchester United coming next weekend, they’re now in a crucial run of fixtures that could make a telling impact on their top-four hopes.

Fortunately, Arsenal boast a strong home record in 2020 on the back of nine victories in 11 league games (D2 L0). The last time they dropped points at the Emirates, incidentally, came in a 1-1 draw against Leicester in July.

A 2-1 midweek victory over Rapid Wien in the Europa League served as a timely boost for the Gunners. Although they still need to feed in their attackers more, with the club only averaging 8.2 shots-per-game. That’s the league’s third-worst record behind Crystal Palace (7.7) and West Brom (8).

Key Team Stats
  • Unbeaten in their last 11 home league games (W9 D2).
  • Only failed to score at home once in their last 39 home league games.
  • Over 2.5 goals in their last four home league games.
  • BTTS in their last five home games in all competitions.

Leicester Form & Stats

Brendan Rodgers’ side, meanwhile, head to the Emirates on the back of two consecutive defeats in the Premier League at home to West Ham and Aston Villa. Therefore, they’ll be under pressure to get something on Sunday.

A 3-0 win over Zorya in their midweek Europa League opener was a welcome result, but Jamie Vardy’s absence was felt. On the bright side, however, Rodgers has suggested he could feature on Sunday in some capacity. Considering the striker’s brilliant record against Arsenal, the coach will hope that’s the case.

Victory in the Gunners’ backyard would certainly be a statement of intent from Leicester. While it’s still early days, the visitors will be eager to bounce back from their back-to-back defeats to restore their top-four challenge.

Although losing other key players, such as Caglar Soyuncu and Wilfred Ndidi, to injury and their poor record away to Arsenal could be their undoing.

Key Team Stats
  • Jamie Vardy has scored 10 goals in 10 games against Arsenal in all competitions.
  • Lost nine of their last 10 away league games against Arsenal (D1).
  • Lost their last two league games.
  • Over 2.5 goals in their last four away games.
