The Gunners midfielder has picked up an injury in his right thigh.

Arsenal will face Brighton in their next Premier League game on Saturday. The Gunners will look to bounce back from their shocking 3-0 defeat against Crystal Palace last week. However, they will have to play without one of their key players against the Seagulls.

On Thursday, the London side confirmed Thomas Partey had injured his right thigh during the Palace game. However, Mikel Arteta believes the club must continue assessing the Ghana star’s fitness to provide an exact timeline for his return.

“It is a little bit ambiguous,” Arteta told a pre-match press conference.

“But he has a significant injury and we’ll have to keep assessing him, but he will be out for some weeks.

“It could be [an issue], but it could also not be because it’s an area where he had a previous injury as well, and he felt it straight away. It’s not quick.”

Asked about the injury of Kieran Tierney, the Spaniard responded: “Our responsibility is to look after them when we have them here, but once they go to the national team.

“In this case, it’s their job and responsibility to decide which team that they believe is the best to win the games. And we have to try to have quick communication with the national teams, which we have, but these things happen.”

Arsenal are fifth on the Premier League table, sitting behind Tottenham, who have a better goal difference. As the league’s top-four race reaches its decisive face, the Gunners hope to return back to winning ways against the Toffees.
