As Mikel Arteta has refused to rule out more transfers, who should Arsenal sign next? Kevin Campbell gives his verdict.

Former Arsenal striker Kevin Campbell has urged the Gunners to sign Chelsea target Moises Caicedo.

In January, Caicedo was the subject of heavy interest from Arsenal. Brighton rejected multiple offers for the midfielder, who later signed a new contract. The Seagulls have since turned down a £70 million approach by Chelsea.

Mikel Arteta has added fuel to the fire by suggesting the club’s summer transfer business is not over. The Arsenal manager has already signed Declan Rice (£105m), Jurrien Timber (£40m), and Kai Havertz (£65m).

“Could we get both of them?” Campbell pondered on the Highbury Squad about signing Rice and Caicedo.

“You get them both, now that’s exciting.”

On the Caicedo-Chelsea links, Campbell added: “He’s not a Chelsea player yet, now is he? That’s the funny thing. He’s not a Chelsea player yet.

“You would think that Chelsea would have done the business, but they haven’t. So this leaves the door open.”

Arsenal sat top of the Premier League for 248 days last season before finishing second. They kick-start the 2023/24 campaign on August 12 against Nottingham Forest.

Arteta’s men are currently in the United States for a pre-season summer tour. They’ll be facing the MLS All-Stars in a friendly on Thursday in Washington.
