As doubts grow over Donny van de Beek’s future at Manchester United, will Arsenal make a move for the midfielder?

Donny van de Beek has a ‘super ability’ and his versatility would make him an asset for Arsenal’s midfield, says ex-Gunners striker Kevin Campbell.

The former Ajax midfielder has struggled for opportunities at Premier League rivals Manchester United since completing a £40 million move to Old Trafford in September 2020.

This season alone has seen Van de Beek fall completely out of favor under Red Devils boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. In fact, he has played just 24 minutes of Premier League football. Therefore, as things go from bad to worse, the 24-year-old is reportedly open to a January exit.

What does Campbell think?

“I only want what’s best for Arsenal, and I believe Donny van de Beek can play, if given the opportunity,” the former striker told The Highbury Squad.

“The boy can play. He wants out. I think this young man has super ability.

“He can play anywhere around the midfield – holding, at eight, and he can play attacking. We’ve got another one who is versatile – a plug-and-play player for us.”
