Reports have linked the Gunners with several star names to boost their attacking options.

Arsenal should drop their interest in Richarlison in favor of a move for Raphinha, according to Ray Parlour.

The former Gunners midfielder feels Richarlison has been a tad inconsistent for Everton and lacks versatility amid reports linking the Brazilian forward with a £50 million (€58m) switch to the Emirates.

Instead, Parlour feels Leeds United winger Raphinha could be a better coup for Mikel Arteta’s side.

Why should Arsenal sign Raphinha?

“He is a top player, I think any club will be interested in Raphinha,” Parlour told talkSPORT.

“I think Richarlison is a top player, don’t get me wrong, but I think he’s a little bit inconsistent at times, you’ve got to play him in the right position.

“But certainly Raphinha, he’s shown that he is a top player and I’m sure lots of clubs will be in for him as well.”

Recent reports have claimed Arsenal have a meeting scheduled with Leeds this week to discuss Raphinha. A deal, however, won’t come cheap. The Whites are holding out for a £65 million (€76m) fee at the moment.

But Arsenal are on the brink of recruiting a new striker in Manchester City star Gabriel Jesus. The Gunners have a £45 million fee agreed, and the Brazilian has accepted a five-year contract.
