The Bavarians have not reached an agreement with David Raya’s representatives.
Brentford goalkeeper David Raya has emerged as a transfer target for Arsenal after Bayern Munich’s failure to sign him.
Raya was Bayern’s top priority to replace Yann Sommer, who’s close to completing a move to Inter. However, the club’s negotiations with Brentford and Raya’s camp haven’t been successful.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Bayern have offered a loan deal for Raya, which has been rejected by both the player and Brentford.
A report from the Athletic claims Arsenal are now considering a move for Raya ahead of the next season. The Spaniard reportedly prefers a move to the Emirates, with the Gunners planning to make a formal bid in the next few days.
With Raya’s move collapsing, Bayern are left with Yassine Bounou, David De Gea, and Giorgi Mamardashvili as their main goalkeeping targets.
De Gea has reportedly received two offers from Saudi Arabia since leaving Manchester United. Bayern made initial contact with the player last week.
Bonou is another goalkeeper who could join Bayern this summer. However, Sevilla’s €20m price tag on the Morocco international makes him an unlikely choice.
Based on their offer for Raya, Bayern are keen to sign their new goalkeeper on a loan-plus-buyout-option deal. This could tempt the Bundesliga champions to make a similar offer for Mamardashvili as another promising goalkeeper.
